G-9 Glass-Melamine Laminate is a woven glass fabric that is very hard, flame resistant, and

machining grade with excellent electrical properties in high humidity conditions. It has high

physical strength and excellent arc resistance. Grade G-9 glass melamine rod meets or exceeds

all requirements of Military Specification Mil-I-24768/1, Type GME.  G-9 Glass woven cloth

impregnated with melamine resin.

 

The key difference between G5 and G9 is the G9 Glass-melamine laminate is more resistant to the elements of the environment. Thus, G9 can be safely substituted where G5 is called for.

G9 = MIL-I-24768/1 GME
