PTFE 15% CARBON FIBER-FILLED

Carbon Fiber lowers creep, increases flex and compressive modulus. PTFE Carbon fiber-filled raises hardness properties and exhibits wear characteristics in water applications. PTFE Carbon fiber-filled often is the best choice in automotive applications such as shock absorbers and water pumps. It is an excellent material for use in piston rings, bearings and thrust washers to reduce wear. A 15% fill is typically called out in certain AMS specifications, however customer specific fill percentages are available upon request.

 

**Carbon fiber adds improved compression and wear resistance to PTFE. In general less carbon fiber filler is needed than glass fiber to produce the same effect. Carbon fiber has excellent chemical resistance.
