HALAR® (ECTFE)
Ethylene Chlorotrifluoroethylene
B.I.R.S. Machine & Supply distributor of ECTFE sheet, rod, film and tube.
Halar® (ECTFE) has excellent corrosion and chemical resistance and
performs in many applications up to 300°F (149°C). Made from the toughest
of all fluoropolymers, this material has nylon-like durability with excellent mechanical properties and extraordinary impact strength at temperatures ranging from -104 °F to +302 °F. In addition, it has extremely low resistanceto liquids, gases (oxygen carbon dioxide, & chlorine) and vapors. Halar® ECTFE is resistant to most chemicals including acids, alkalines, and organic solvents: except hot amines and ketones. Due to the fact that Halar is very pure, this material is being used to process chemicals and ultrapure water for
the semiconductor industry. Halar® (ECTFE) has greater strength, wear and creep resistance than PTFE. USP Class VI, UL94 V-0
