KYNAR® (PVDF)

B.I.R.S. Machine & Supply distributor of KYNAR (PVDF) sheet & rod.

KYNAR® (PVDF) is a high molecular weight thermoplastic polyvinylidene

fluoride used extensively in the chemical processing industry. KYNAR®

(PVDF) is a durable, tough material that is easy to machine and fabricate.

Because of its unique combination of properties, great strength, superior

chemical corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, and useful temperature

range (80° to 300°F), Kynar® is the material choice of the chemical industry.

Chemical Processing rely on KYNAR® (PVDF) to withstand heat and pressure,

aggressive chemicals, mechanical stress, and abrasive particles in varied

applications. KYNAR® (PVDF) is a specialty plastic material in the fluoropolymer

family. KYNAR® (PVDF) is used generally in applications requiring the highest

purity, strength, and resistance to solvents, acids, bases and heat and low

smoke generation during a fire event. Compared to other fluoropolymers, it has

an easier melt process because of its relatively low melting point of around 338 °F.

It is also commonly used in the semiconductor, medical and defense industries,

as well as in lithium ion batteries. Standard color is natural beige.
